Editorial policy
This policy explains the standards every GoldVetted page is held to. It applies to guides, dealer reviews, price pages and tools.
What principles do we follow?
| Principle | What it means in practice |
|---|---|
| Independence | Dealers cannot pay for reviews, rankings or edits. Commission never changes a result |
| Primary sources | Facts come from mints, tax authorities, regulators and dealers' own pages, linked in a Sources list |
| No fabrication | No invented people, quotes, reviews, statistics, awards or prices |
| Plain English | Jargon is explained the first time it appears |
| Not advice | We present facts and trade-offs. We never promise returns |
| Transparency | Dates, methods and affiliate relationships are visible |
Who writes GoldVetted?
All content is published under the GoldVetted Editorial Team. We use the team byline instead of personal names. We are recruiting an independent precious-metals expert reviewer, as described in our review method. We will not claim expert review until someone is named.
How do we source facts?
Each page lists its sources. For tax we use the official tax authority. For regulation we use the regulator. For product specifications we use the mint or refiner. If we cannot verify a claim, we leave it out or say it is not stated. Dealer prices come only from our automated checks and are shown with a date and the spot price.
How do affiliate links affect content?
We may earn commission from links to dealers. Affiliate links are marked sponsored and a disclosure appears before the first one on the page. We write and rank first, and add links afterwards. Dealers without an affiliate programme are reviewed on the same terms. Full detail is in the affiliate disclosure.
Do we use AI tools?
We may use software to help draft, check or format pages. Every page must still meet the standards above, and facts must trace to a listed source. Our price checks are run by automated scripts, which is how we describe them throughout the site.
How do we update pages?
Pages show "last updated" and "last fact-checked" dates. We update when prices, tax rules or dealer policies change, and we review core pages regularly. Substantive changes after publication are logged on the corrections page where they fix an error.
How do we handle mistakes?
Tell us at contact@goldvetted.com. We verify, correct and record material errors. See corrections.
What do we never do?
- Accept payment for a favourable review.
- Publish unverified customer testimonials.
- Present gold as risk-free. Prices can fall as well as rise.

Sources
We checked these primary and official sources when writing and fact-checking this page.
Not financial advice. GoldVetted provides general information to help you compare options. It is not personal financial, tax or legal advice. Gold prices go down as well as up, and you may get back less than you pay. Check tax rules with the official source or a qualified adviser before you act.
