Disclaimer
Not financial advice. GoldVetted provides general information to help you understand and compare options for buying physical gold. It does not take your circumstances into account.
Is anything on GoldVetted advice?
No. Nothing on this site is personal financial, investment, tax or legal advice, or an offer, invitation or recommendation to buy or sell any product. We are not a dealer, broker or adviser. If you are unsure, speak to a suitably qualified professional.
Can gold lose value?
Yes. Gold prices go down as well as up, and you may get back less than you pay. Dealers charge a premium over the spot price and often buy back below it, so a price rise is needed just to break even. Past performance does not predict future prices. Gold pays no income.
Is physical gold regulated in the UK?
In the UK, buying physical bullion coins and bars is generally not a regulated activity, so the FCA does not regulate it and you would not normally have access to the Financial Services Compensation Scheme or the Financial Ombudsman Service for it. Other gold products can be regulated, for example some funds, exchange-traded products and certain vaulted or pooled schemes. Nothing on this site is a financial promotion. Check any firm on the FCA Register.
